WHAT CAUSES ME TO SIN?
Beloved, despite the victory of the prophet Elijah over the prophets of Baal, Elijah was still disappointed. He felt he was a failure, because, Baalism still prevailed. He felt that God was far away and so there was no need still living. He eventually felt God's presence in a silent breeze, so gentle. Jesus is found in the Blessed Sacrament, the Holy Scriptures, the tabernacle etc. God will not necessarily do things our own way. Am I getting frustrated? Is God absent or present in my life? No matter where I go, God is still God. He decides how, when and where to appear to us.
Friends, in our today's Gospel reading, Jesus touches on lust. Lust is a desperate thirst for what is sexually immoral. If we yield to it, it may not kill our body, but it kills us inside. It leads us to commit adultery or fornication. Adultery will eventually lead to divorce.
Let us pray for the grace to be conscious of God's presence in every aspect of our lives. We also pray for the grace to be conscious of all our sinful inclinations or all those things or occasions, which lead us into sin. We congratulate our Muslim brothers and sisters for a successful end of their period of fasting. BE BLESSED.
