WELCOME THE GOOD NEWS POSITIVELY
Beloved, with all his heart, soul, mind and might, St. Paul is making efforts to let Jesus be known to as many people as possible, as he moves from place to place, in his first missionary journey. All of us may not have the opportunity to move from place to place as missionaries or on outreach to evangelise or preach the word of God. We all may not have the theoretical or theological or historical knowledge about Jesus to share with others. But by our lifestyle and actions, others will come to know about Jesus.
Friends, our today's Gospel reading comes immediately after Jesus washed the feet of his disciples.Jesus demonstrated and exemplified the virtues of humility, service and sincerity. He, the master, humbly washed the feet of his disciples and took his time to explain to them why he did that. I wonder how many married men still wash their own clothes and dishes or bath the children or do any cleaning when their wives or house helps are around? How do we serve one another in our homes and work places? Jesus continues to talk about accepting he himself, his message and/or messengers as a way of accepting the one who sent him. This tells us that if we accept the fact that Jesus is our Lord and Master, and that, we are servants or messengers, we should know that whatever we do and say does not come from us but from our Lord and Master. The word of God as we share with one another should be treated as the Word of God. We are only messengers. Let us pray for the grace to continue to spread the word of God in our words and deeds wherever we find ourselves. We should also learn to accept one another and serve one another wherever we find ourselves. BE BLESSED.
