SEEK THE TRUTH
Beloved, St. Jude points out to his own people that nothing has happened that they might not have expected. He told them and is also telling us to build our lives on a strong foundation of Holy faith, prayer, love of God, obedience to God and love of the Holy Scriptures, in order not to regret later.
Friends, the priests and the scribes and the elders wanted to know from Jesus the source of his authority. They hoped to put Jesus into a delimma or to trap him. All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Jesus. Jesus has always outwitted the Scribes and the Pharisees in such instances. They lacked faith in Jesus. Let me say, they took Jesus for granted. What about me and you? Jesus' humanity was like a veil covering his divinity. This veil had to be taken away (revelation). The correlative of revelation is faith, which is a gift, which we cultivate through prayer. The people touched on something very serious (buying and selling in the Holy temple). Who will allow his or most cherished place to be misused? After chasing them away, they felt Jesus also touched on a very serious aspect of their lives (the source of their livelihood). It is important to seek the truth and find God, in order not to regret later. May we learn to build good and solid foundation on faith. May we seek the truth and live by the truth. BE BLESSED.
