CEMENT THE CRACKS/BURY THE DIFFERENCES
Beloved, in our today's first reading, St. Paul is before the Jewish authorities, made up of the chief priests and the entire Sanhedrin. The Holy Spirit enabled St. Paul to use clever tactics to turn the Sadducees and Pharisees against each other, because, the Pharisees believe in Angels, Spirits, the Resurrection etc, but the Sadducees do not. He boldly said, it was his belief in the resurrection of the dead that he was on trial. No matter what, we should not water down our key beliefs. We should be ready to fight for a common course. To be frank, poverty, bribery and corruption, armed robbery, lawlessness, lack of faith, are some of our common "enemies". As Catholics, Berfuors, Bakpaartengdeme, products of LASSEC, etc, we should have common aims, goals and plans. There should be unity of purpose. We should not leave loopholes or cracks for others to capitalise on and shatter us.
Friends, Our Lord Jesus Christ and God the Father were truly united. Jesus obeyed his Father's will by accepting to take on human form and to accept crucifixion for our sake. He had very close relationship with God. We are also called upon to be united, to the glory of God and for the good of others. Let us pray for firmness, courage and faith. We also pray for unity of purpose in our endeavours. BE BLESSED.
